£2,500 Funding for New Ponds in Cheshire East
Are you interested in creating a new pond and have land in Cheshire East local authority? Ponds must be located within a target area and we can quickly check if your proposed site is eligible. There is a payment of £2,500 per pond and groups of 2-3 ponds can work well. New ponds must be a minimum size of 200m2, a depth of 1.5-2m and have a 3m+ habitat buffer around them.
We can assist with all the permissions, pond design and finding contractors to ensure the pond is created before the deadline of March 31st 2025.
The funding is from Natural England and under a scheme to improve pond habitat for Great Crested Newts and you will enter an agreement for 25 years for the pond to be monitored every few years.
